After researching the fight for the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution, I uncovered 10 women that lived during this period that I found fascinating. Some of them played large parts in the struggle for the right to vote for women, others had an indirect impact on the issue. They were agitators, mothers, teachers, a traveling dancer, lecturers, a fashion designer, a cosmetics magnate, a publishing tycoon and so much more. I fell in love with their stories. I never met these historical figures in my fifth grade history class. I love learning and broadening the discussion of history to include more women.
I also took a long look at Susan B. Anthony and created two opposing views of her.
